The Details

The ol' blog hasn't seen much action of late. I've been shooting a lot for myself lately, shot some more 4/5 portraits and loads of stuff with friends. Commercially I've done an FNB ad, some portraits in Durban for 'The National' in Dubai and some other random stuff in between. You can see some of this work in the posts below. I also had an joint exhibiton with my brother, Andrew, at the Vaal University. We were asked to show our work in their gallery as we both studied there. I was also asked to give a guest lecture to the students at the university which was pretty cool. Some talented photographers coming out of the Vaal.
On a more family based note, my brother got engaged on the weekend to his girlfriend Marija. I'm really happy for him, Marija is a lucky lady. This is a portrait I shot of Andrew while I was still studying, I think he was 17 then.

A Round Up

1. So here is a load of stuff I have shot recently and not so recently.
2. I have still got some new work I would like to upload but have to wait for them to be published etc.
3. I have a some work at the Hello World Exhibition opening tomorrow night, it's a group show with a lot of talented folks involved.

The Art of Not Posting

So I've been quite lazy when it comes to blogging of late. Maybe not lazy, just being selective with my time. I've been shooting a lot in the last few weeks, I was on a six day shoot for Cell C, 3 days on a two different Mille' campaigns, another converse shoot, shot fashion editorials for FHM and Cosmo and started a personal project. The personal story is something I've been wanting to do for a while but just never got round to doing it but I finally have. I got a 4 x 5 camera from the Vaal Tech/ Vaal University and have been shooting portraits with it for the last month or so. It's been awesome getting back to two frames per portrait instead of one hundred per portrait. I can't upload any work yet because none of it has been released yet. But I will upload one because else this post will be incredibly boring, this is one of the shots from the Cosmo editorial coming out in October.

Nike-Be True

Nike has opened up a store/gallery in Melville that will be open for the next 6 months. I was asked to shoot some photographs for the exhibition, that will run as long as the store is open, and also to shoot portraits of people who attended the opening last Tuesday. I shot portraits of Oscar Pistorius for the exhibition, but I'm going to post them in a separate post because I think they deserve that. The prints of Oscar are for sale, they are an edition of 6 and you can email me if you are interested in purchasing one. You can also see more of the portraits from the night here.

Champagne Taste and Beer Bottle Pockets

I started a campaign for SAB on Monday and I'm going to be busy on it until the 7th of March, so I'm not going to be able to post new stuff for a while. I shot this at one of the SAB depots in Soweto. And, I'm being published next month in an online mag called, This Is Fly, which is based in New York. It's the most amazing fly fishing mag on the planet. I'll post a screen shot of the page when it's out, but go check it out now anyway. I know you're not doing anything.
